5 Prompts That Fix a Dead Listing

Free from ToolDrop. Copy, paste, and judge the output yourself.

DEMO ONLY: Every example below uses a demo listing — a speckled stoneware mug, invented for this guide. It is not a real seller, and no sales, views, or results are claimed for it. If you use these prompts on your own listing, the results are yours to measure.

1. The title prompt — say what a buyer searches

Rewrite this Etsy title so a buyer searching for this item would find it. Put the main search phrase first, keep it readable, no keyword stuffing, no false claims. Old title: [paste your title]. Item: [describe it in one line].

Demo: old title "Beautiful mug" → new title "Speckled Stoneware Coffee Mug, 12 oz, Handmade Ceramic Mug for Coffee Lovers".

2. The 13 tags prompt — write like a buyer

Give me 13 Etsy tags for this listing, written as phrases a real buyer would type, not single words and not brand names I do not own. Item: [describe it]. Price: [price].

Demo tags include: speckled stoneware mug, handmade ceramic coffee mug, 12 oz coffee mug, rustic kitchen mug, coffee lover gift.

3. The description prompt — sell the moment, then the details

Rewrite this description: first paragraph, the moment the buyer will use it; second paragraph, materials, size, and care; last line, shipping and returns in plain language. No hype, no fake reviews. Old description: [paste it].

4. The photo prompt — make the first photo do the work

List 5 photos this listing needs, in order, starting with the one that would stop a scroll: the item in use, the item alone, scale, detail, and packaging. For each photo, one sentence on what must be visible. Item: [describe it].

5. The pricing prompt — check fees before you price

Break down this price line by line: listing fee, transaction fee, payment processing, and shipping, so I can see what I actually keep. Price: [price]. Shipping charged: [amount]. Do not change my price — show me the math, then suggest one corrected price with the same math shown.

Demo math is shown on ToolDrop's fee-audit videos — demo numbers only, not a real seller's order.
